I need to thank you and your staff for the excellent and professional job installing radiant barrier, and additional ventilation to our attic in our new home. The thank-you is late in coming, because I really wanted to see what the effects of radiant barrier would be over the summer.
It's been some time since the work was done, so I've some time to observe the effects. First, the cooling is more even; no hot spots. The system comes on far less frequently than it used to, particularly in mid day when the sun is at the hottest. I've been in the attic many times since doing some additional wiring, and the temperature reduction is obvious.. I can actually work up there during the day. Some of this may also be the result of the solar powered fan providing much more air circulation. For free, yet!.
Finally, my power bill compared to a friend with a home of similar size and age, is around $100 less in summer. I figure that at current prices this may pay out in as few as three years.
I've convinced my son to have radiant barrier built into his new home.
Shane and Cody did a top notch job. They got the work done quickly, without any mess, and I can see from being in the attic that the coverage is complete. I haven't seen any gaps. When they installed the solar fan, they also pointed out some chimney defects which I hadn't seen, and which might have caused more serious damage had they not pointed it out.
So, as far as I'm concerned, radiant barriers work, and I do recommend your workmanship and method to anyone considering radiant barrier.
